RecallRelay: Food Recalls
FDA & USDA Safety Alerts
Last updated: September 14, 2026
SilverWright LLC operates RecallRelay. This policy explains what information RecallRelay handles, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information RecallRelay handles
Account information
RecallRelay creates an account for saved products, purchases, and alerts. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and the profile information the provider makes available, such as your name or email address.
RecallRelay does not ask you to enter a phone number and does not use phone number or location information to personalize the app. The Google Sign-In software included in the app may process name, email address, phone number, account and device identifiers, coarse location, and usage metadata as part of providing and securing Google Sign-In.
Saved product information
We store the product details you enter or scan, which may include a product name, brand, barcode, lot code, best-by date, state, and alert setting. RecallRelay keeps a copy on your device and syncs a copy to your account.
Notification information
If you enable alerts, we store an Apple Push Notification service token, app version, alert choices, delivery schedule, and time zone. We use this information to send the alerts you request.
Purchase information
We receive a customer identifier and subscription status from RevenueCat and Apple so we can provide RecallRelay Plus. Apple processes payment details.
Support information
If you contact support through the app or by email, we receive your message, contact email if supplied, and app version.
Network and security information
When you use online features, Cloudflare and our authentication services process technical information such as your IP address, user agent, request timing, and security or rate-limit data. This information is used to deliver and protect the service. An IP address may indicate a broad location.
Diagnostics
RecallRelay sends crash reports and limited error and diagnostic details to Sentry so we can keep the app reliable. The Sentry software identifies crash, performance, and other diagnostic data in its Apple privacy disclosure.
RecallRelay disables performance tracing and removes account identity, request contents, breadcrumbs, screenshots, view hierarchy, and other extra fields before sending an error event. Sentry does not store the raw IP address for this project, though it may derive a broad location while receiving an event.
Optional app usage
If you turn on Share app usage, RecallRelay sends a fixed set of product-interaction and feature-use events, together with standard SDK or device metadata, to PostHog.
These events are not connected to your RecallRelay account and do not include saved product details, barcodes, lot codes, support messages, notification information, or recall content. You can turn this setting off in the app.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- Sync saved products
- Check subscription access
- Send recall alerts
- Respond to support requests
- Deliver and protect the service
- Diagnose errors
- Improve RecallRelay when you opt in to app-usage collection
Service providers
RecallRelay uses:
- Cloudflare for hosting, security, and account data
- Apple and Google for sign-in
- Apple for purchases and push notifications
- RevenueCat for subscription management
- Sentry for diagnostics
- PostHog for optional app-usage analytics
These providers process information for the services they supply under their own terms and privacy policies.
We do not sell personal information or use RecallRelay data for third-party advertising.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information and account-linked app data while your RecallRelay account exists. You can delete individual saved products or delete your account from Settings. Account deletion removes the account and its saved products, alert choices, device registrations, support requests, and subscription-status cache from our active database. Limited copies may remain in protected service backups until those backups expire.
We keep support, security, analytics, and diagnostic records only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, subject to our service-provider settings and legal obligations. Turning off Share app usage stops future PostHog events. Contact us if you want help with a support, analytics, or diagnostic deletion request.
Deleting a RecallRelay account does not cancel an App Store subscription. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings. Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and other service providers may retain transaction, security, or compliance records under their policies and legal obligations.
Your choices
You can use RecallRelay to browse public recall notices without signing in.
In the app, you can:
- Delete saved products
- Change your alert choices
- Turn off notifications
- Opt out of app-usage analytics
- Delete your account
Official recall information
RecallRelay displays public information from the FDA and USDA. These agencies do not own or endorse RecallRelay. Information may be delayed or incomplete, and a search with no match does not establish that a product is safe. Follow the instructions in the official recall notice.
Children
RecallRelay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as RecallRelay changes. We will post the new date on this page.
